Black Mirror has become the Twilight Zone of the 21st century, even though it doesnt have any supernatural elements. I'm sure this was partially a reference to that but it stayed with me. The way they torture the woman for entertainment really stuck out - people taking photos and video reminded me of real world situations where people did that with suicidal people or others in distress. Because of the amount of content thats loaded in the episode, it runs a bit. White Bear has been the most disturbing for me too. In Persuasion Nation isn’t his best collection (that would be Pastoralia), but it is the collection most interested in technology. Many elements of previous Black Mirror episodes are combined, such as the scary use of technology and human nature. This is the scariest for me also It is terrifying to feel like you can't trust your own reality, and having parents who are getting older and starting to show some signs of decline, that element of the episode was heartbreaking and horrifying. Still, Saunders writes brilliant and surprising short stories that frequently imagine how technology, corporations, and politics will continue to corrupt us. Black Mirror Season 6 gives audiences another captivating mix of ingenious sci-fi stories, ranging from terrifying episodes like 'Beyond the Sea,' to some not-so-scary ones like 'Joan is Awful'. Saunders work is rarely as horrifying as the series, and is often far more hilarious ( Black Mirror’s few humorous forays, like “The Waldo Moment,” are typically the weakest episodes). His imaginary world runs smoothly until his creation starts to fight back against him.As the most celebrated writer of literary sci-fi satires, Saunders is an obvious pick. Robert Daly is a sad sack CTO at a virtual reality company who's created a fantasy world for himself aboard the fictional USS Callister, a ship modeled after Space Fleet - a Star Trek stand in. In his real life Daly may be a put upon dork, but while captaining the Callister he's a tyrannical throwback to '60s sci-fi male chauvinism.
